I recently purchased some Lapsang Souchong tea from DavidsTea. I heard that it’s like fine cigars and scotch, which sounds wonderful to me as I am a fan of both. I was expecting a warm tea, that much like cigars, is reminiscent of bitter chocolate with a smoky finish. Upon opening the package, I was greatly disappointed. The smoky smell was overwhelming, almost like I had consumed straight up liquid smoke or had stuck smoked meats up my nose. Though I don’t really have an inherent problem with beef brisket, I’d rather not have my tea taste like it.
